Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

I’m a big believer in communicating important principles with fun and laughter.

A few observations about this remarkable relationship:

1. We tend to place conditions on our acceptance and love. We love those who are like us, or we love those we like. Suryia and Roscoe couldn’t be much different, and their species have no natural attractions. But here they are.
2. It’s amazing how much joy is discovered in service and absolute acceptance.
3. Common activities become uncommonly rich when done in good company.
4. Love and friendship enrich others with their magic.
5. A lot of good things happen when you see an individual rather than a label.
6. Good looks and beauty aren’t the same thing.
7. It’s difficult to avoid smiling at a contented dog. It’s impossible to avoid smiling at an orangutan.

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.
